About the Role Paradise Valley Country Club is seeking a
Gardener
to maintain and enhance the beauty of our
clubhouse grounds , focusing on
annual flower beds, seasonal and holiday displays, and ornamental plantings . This
hands-on, non-supervisory support role
is ideal for a candidate who is
passionate about horticulture , has a solid understanding of plant care, and can
support the team
while maintaining high standards for all plantings and displays.
The Gardener will be responsible for the
health, vitality, and visual impact of all plants and flowers , ensuring proper care, pruning, fertilization, and seasonal enhancements. The role emphasizes
attention to detail, aesthetic skills, and practical horticultural knowledge , achieving a polished, high-end presentation that elevates the Club’s visual impact.
Essential Duties
Support and uphold
Paradise Valley Country Club’s Vision, Mission, and Values
Maintain
clubhouse grounds, ornamental beds, annual flowers, and seasonal/holiday displays
to exceptional standards
Perform routine plant care, including fertilization, pruning, grooming, watering, mulching, and seasonal replacements
Assist with
seasonal and holiday floral programs , ensuring visually appealing displays throughout the year
Support and collaborate with the Horticulturist, Assistant Horticulturist, and Part-time Gardener.
Assist gardening team to meet Club standards
Assist in planning, organizing, and prioritizing daily and seasonal gardening tasks
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and with meticulous attention to detail
Maintain professional conduct and situational awareness in all member-facing areas

Requirements Key Qualifications
3–5 years of professional gardening experience
in high-end properties, resorts, or private clubs preferred
Passion for horticulture with a solid understanding of
plant care, pruning, fertilization, and seasonal floral maintenance
Ability to
work independently
while supporting and collaborating with Horticulturist, assistant horticulturist, and part-time gardener.
Hands-on experience with
planting, transplanting, and seasonal enhancements
High attention to detail, integrity, reliability, and professionalism
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role , which are physically demanding and often require:
Lifting and moving plants, soil, and materials (sometimes 50+ lbs.)
Standing, bending, kneeling, and walking for extended periods
Working outdoors in heat, sun, or desert conditions
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
Valid
Arizona Class D Driver’s License
Agree to maintain a
Drug-Free Workplace
as a condition of employment
Ability to
pass background and reference checks
per company standards
Ability to
lead by example

Strong
