Fairfield Inn & Suites Grand Rapids North is seeking part-time laundry attendants to support hotel laundry and housekeeping operations. If you possess excellent organization and time management abilities and are dedicated to providing exceptional guest service, we invite you to apply!

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for operating all aspects of the laundry area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Sort linens into appropriate groups for washing, separate stained linen from other dirty linen, treat according to policy and procedures. Ensure proper load sizes. Remove clean linen from washers and place in dryers

Clean washers and dryers, check drums and replenish cleaning agents, and clean lint traps on dryer

Remove linens from dryers, fold, and place in appropriate storage rack/room

Ensure proper curing process is followed

Log discarded linen on "discarded linen" sheet

Maintain immediate work area and clean break room and employee bathroom

Follow proper safety procedures according to MIOSHA standards

Keep shelves and supplies well stocked and organized, inform supervisor of shortages in inventory or supplies

May assist housekeepers with cleaning duties; including collecting and delivering soiled linens to laundry room

Notify supervisor of all equipment breakdowns

Provide the highest quality of service to the guests

Follow all safety procedures and policies for all guests and employees

Adhere to proper key control procedures

Report any unusual occurrences or requests to a supervisor immediately

Attend and participate in staff meetings

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally communicate, listen, stand for long periods of time, ability to walk, kneel, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This position requires variable hours based on the needs of the hotel including nights or weekends.
