The High School Social Studies Teacher is responsible for teaching Social Studies to students, creating lesson plans, preparing and delivering lectures, supervising laboratory activities, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom records, and meeting with parents, teachers, and other staff.

Correct homework, keep attendance records, maintain discipline in the classroom.
Meet with parents to discuss student progress and problems, and participate in faculty meetings and teacher training workshops.
Administer tests to assess and evaluate pupil progress, score tests, record results, complete forms to send to the Mississippi Department of Education, and issue reports to inform the school’s principal and parents of student progress.
Assist students in selecting a course of study and counsel students with adjustment and academic problems.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Education.
State certification.
