What does the Bus Driver do? In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning resident transportation and operating a van or bus to transport residents to various activities, appointments, and events.

Daily Responsibilities
Follow the Prestige Care dress code, wear a nametag at all times, identify yourself to passengers routinely, and carry a working cell phone at all times.
Carry a current State Driver’s License and know the location of insurance documentation, fire extinguisher, road flares, emergency road equipment and cellular phone, and demonstrate proper usage of this equipment.
Ensure familiarity with transportation of disabled persons and adhere to Prestige policies and procedures regarding safe transport of residents, including the use of appropriate seating restraints.
Immediately notify the Executive Director of any accident, damage, personal injury or behavioral incidents occurring during any trip.
Adhere to all local or state motor vehicle laws, rules and regulations.
Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously, respect dignity and confidentiality standards, and promote resident rights.
Complete the Prestige Vehicle Trip Log at the time of each trip and a weekly Vehicle Inspection form, reporting identified repairs or adjustments to the Executive Director for immediate resolution.
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
A valid, current driver’s license in the state.
Valid commercial Class C driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement required.
Knowledgeable of the area streets and locations.
Must be able to meet insurance qualifications to operate company vehicles including passenger vans and bus.
Previous experience transporting residents/patients preferred.
