Job Summary The primary responsibility of the Host Person is to ensure guests are cheerfully greeted, whether in person or on the telephone, and to seat arriving guests in a timely manner. The Host serves as the restaurant’s first and last impression and must make guests thoroughly enjoy their dining experience.
Responsibilities
Approach and greet customers promptly and courteously.
Determine guest’s requirements (party size, smoking preference, accessibility needs, etc.).
Seat arriving guests quickly and accurately determine wait times when necessary.
Rotate server stations appropriately based on server availability.
Assist service staff in clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables.
Ensure all restaurant areas are clean, focusing on entrance and podium.
Answer telephones using proper phone etiquette.
Accept and process restaurant reservations as availability permits.
Follow proper opening and closing procedures, including necessary paperwork and reports.
What You Will Need
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of work‑related experience.
Effective communication skills in English, verbal and written.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to interact with customers, the public, and co‑workers.
Competence using a computer and/or cash register.
Additional Requirements
Nevada Health Card.
Alcohol Awareness Card.
Must be 18+ years old.
