Field Service Paving Technician – Night Shift
Join Blanchard Machinery as a Field Service Paving Technician (Night Shift). You will work with advanced, heavy equipment, providing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services in a high‑pressure environment.
Training Schedule Week‑long intensive training: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Available Shift Options
Monday – Thursday: 4 days, 10 hours each, from 4 pm to 3 am
Tuesday – Friday: 4 days, 10 hours each, from 4 pm to 3 am
Sunday – Thursday: 8 pm – 4 am
Responsibilities
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all types of mechanical and hydraulic diesel‑powered equipment (engines, transmissions, pumps, compressors, etc.).
Perform inspections and test equipment for proper operation.
Install and/or repair new or reconditioned parts.
Complete paperwork, including parts requisitions/returns, timecards, and service reports.
Utilize diagnostic equipment and systems to assist in repairs.
Maintain service truck and all equipment on it.
Ensure total customer service through direct interactions.
Represent Blanchard Machinery professionally, arriving on time and communicating throughout the repair process.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of heavy equipment experience.
Prior experience on CAT equipment is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, service manuals.
Advanced working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and operate lifting devices.
Proficient with diagnostic equipment and electronic cables/connectors/sensors.
Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to set and keep priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Working Conditions
Work inside (non‑climate controlled) and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, arid conditions.
Use PPE to prevent injury or hazardous exposure.
Typical tasks: standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting (varied weight).
Use a broad variety of tools and machines.
Reading, writing, and use of computer and other technology necessary.
