Job Description Merchandiser Travel Retail Service is responsible for representing Acosta, our clients, and our customers by effectively working in teams to perform reset and remodel work including, but not limited to, reading and implementing plan‑ograms, new item placement, void corrections, and special merchandising activities. Must be a self‑starter, quick learner, have strong attention to detail, and work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities
Read and follow a plan‑ogram to effectively complete reset and remodel work, having a working knowledge of merchandising and retail terminology.
Perform duties such as moving and cleaning shelves, installing new racks and shelves, displaying merchandise properly, placing shelf strips and attaching tags properly, checking date codes and plan‑ogram integrity, and processing pack‑outs, restocks and reorders as necessary.
Partner with store personnel and co‑workers to achieve and maintain merchandising excellence, discuss changes, and build an effective working relationship.
Effectively and accurately prepare, process, submit, and manage documentation related to assigned reset and remodel work.
Perform job safely by demonstrating full awareness of surroundings. Utilize proper safety techniques and equipment when necessary. Proactively alert management to any unsafe acts or conditions to prevent injuries.
Understand and follow all Acosta policies and standard operating procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED.
At least 1‑year experience reading and using planograms; retail and reset responsibility experience preferred.
Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to build relationships with business partners.
Comfortable utilizing technology (smartphones, computers, copier/fax, handheld devices).
Core competencies: Quality Commitment, Detail Oriented, Customer Service, Communication Skills, Effective Web‑based Application usage.
Willing and able to work in cold environmental conditions (refrigerated and freezer sections) for limited periods.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, decision‑making, and leadership skills; ability to read and communicate effectively with others.
Must be at least 21 years of age to meet travel program requirements.
Travel Requirements Travel is required, with overnight stays up to 75‑100% of the time. Occasional weekend work will also be required.
