Overview

The Barista at DCH Health System will manage the Starbucks coffee kiosk, ensuring accurate cash handling, beverage preparation, and inventory management while maintaining a clean, compliant work environment in accordance with DCH policies and health standards. Responsibilities

Set up and count the cash register drawer at the start of each shift following the DCH Cash Handling Policy. Prepare all Starbucks beverages to customer specifications using the official Starbucks recipes and manual. Stock, rotate, and maintain all kiosk items—drinks, sandwiches, desserts, cups, straws, merchandise, etc. Input all sales and payments accurately into the CBORD POS system, provide receipts, and ensure proper cash drawer reconciliation. Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation and assist in general cleaning of dining and service areas, including vacuuming, trash removal, and equipment sanitation. Track inventory levels, create reorder lists, and receive/write off new deliveries. Support the cafeteria cashier during Starbucks open hours by entering overflow transactions into the Starbucks POS to reduce lines (Northport Campus only). Post and update all Starbucks signage and ensure seasonal beverage promotions are properly displayed. At shift end, count all cash and receipts, complete required logs and forms, and sign off with a supervisor. Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent (preferred). Minimum of one year of cashier experience; previous barista or coffee shop experience is a plus. Strong numerical and recipe-reading skills; ability to count, make change, and follow detailed instructions. Excellent customer service and communication abilities. Proficient with POS systems; able to work a multi-functional register. ServSafe certification (score 75% or higher) preferred, but not required. Working Conditions

Work is performed indoors with controlled temperature, in close proximity to others. Staff frequently bends, lifts, reaches, and performs repetitive motions. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and standing or walking for extended periods.
