Job Overview Equinox locations in New York City are currently seeking Barre Instructors. The position entails the following responsibilities. This is not a complete description; additional responsibilities may be presented during employment.
Responsibilities
Deliver the Equinox Experience to our members in each class.
Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary.
Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class.
Ensure class begins and ends on time.
Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum.
Teach a minimum of 2–5 regularly scheduled classes and keep subbing to a minimum, with availability in two day parts: early morning, evening and/or weekends.
Communicate with Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing.
Qualifications
Current certification in barre discipline.
Experience teaching barre.
Valid CPR/AED certification.
Well‑versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, and exercise modifications for all populations.
Eager to learn and continue professional development and education.
Friendly, vibrant, and outgoing.
Essential Physical Requirements
Ability to run, jump, walk, bend, balance, and perform upper and lower body weight‑bearing movements.
Ability to effectively demonstrate all movements.
Pay Transparency $60–$80 per class; $17/hr for non‑class work.
