Job Summary This position is primarily responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in aviation maintenance technology, crew resource management, flight operations, and FAR Part 141 ground school. Instruction will take place in classroom, lab, and shop settings.
Responsibilities
Teach aviation maintenance technology courses covering the FAA general curriculum.
Advise aviation students on academic and career aspirations.
Develop course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and lab projects.
Maintain training aids.
Instruct courses in the classroom, laboratories, and shop.
Evaluate student achievement and competence.
Collaborate with faculty and the occupational advisory committee.
Qualifications Required
Master’s Degree (or Doctorate) in aviation or related field.
If the degree is not in aviation, extensive aviation experience is required.
Demonstrated ability to teach a broad array of aviation training courses.
Preferred
Doctorate Degree.
Civilian aviation experience with FAR Part 121 or 135 operations.
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certified Flight Instructor rating (CFI) or Ground Instructor certificates (AGI, IGI).
