Description
As a Houseperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of public areas and corridors of the hotel.
This position may require flexible scheduling availability.
Responsibilities
Upkeep the public areas
Assisting with Housekeeping by providing basic duties such as changing sheets, arranging towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, and rearranging rooms after guest check-out
Ongoing involvement in preventative maintenance programs
Recognize and report potential safety hazards and notify supervisors of any damages or disturbances
Maintain shelf organization in the storerooms and replenish supplies as needed
Clean furniture, elevators, glass, planters, light fixtures, carpets, walls, and other public areas such as lobby, pool, and public restrooms
Deliver special request items such as cribs to guest rooms
Job Qualifications
Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
Effective in handling workplace problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them as necessary
Ability to work well in stressful situations
Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time, lift or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds. The number of hours worked during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors. Island Hospitality cannot guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
