Pickleball Instructor
Part-Time: Flexible based on program/client needs; commission based work

The Pickleball Instructor role is a position in Cooper Fitness Center’s Sport Professional department, an on-site sport specific service available to members and guests. This individual will provide quality and consistent pickleball programs for patrons of the Cooper Fitness Center and services may be offered to the public; which involves creating a safe, productive and educational training environment for children, teens, and adults. The position requires the individual to provide exemplary customer service to members, guests, vendors, and fellow teammates and be a total team player.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Uphold this mission of the Cooper Fitness Center as a key member of the CFC team.
Provide exceptional customer service to the members and public and represent Cooper Fitness Center as an ambassador
Offer year-round pickleball programs to add value to the members’ experience, expose the services to the public, and train athletes of all levels in the sport of pickleball
Connect non-member participants with membership department appropriately
Communicate with existing and new clients
Check email and voicemail on a daily basis and update both when off campus for an extended period of time
Offer seasonal camps, clinics, promotional programs as see fit by Tennis Pro and department manager
Organize public relations and marketing with department manager, as needed
Maintain a safe, clean environment for clients and members
Ensure operations of tennis programs and services are maintained at the highest level
Acquire clients and obtain clients from Head Pro referrals
Work with Head Pro to meet budgetary goals
Work in conjunction with other sport professionals and Cooper team members, as needed to help provide a complete exemplary experience for all Cooper patrons
Be liaison between CFC and public and other tennis businesses/events
When working with children, must maintain contact with the children at all times (never leave them unattended or unsupervised)
Maintain professional relationship and uphold ethical standards with all clientele
Assist with league play and team drills
Reserve courts for programming while allowing the amenity to be available for use by membership base
Maintain equipment, courts, and environment to uphold the integrity of program
Handle, communicate, and document any behavioral issues or medical instances
Complete payroll accurately and in a timely manner
Develop programming schedules and operational needs
Maintain stated ratios between children of certain ages and staff
Ensure payments are acquired at time service is rendered
Ensure all payments are paid for by each client at either the service desk or through the business office.
Ensure that no direct payments are made to assistant tennis pro either through cash, online payment, or any other method.
Promote physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth through programs, training, seminars, lectures, and clinics
Work number of hours as determined by company to maintain full-time (30 or more hours) or part-time (29 or less hours) status
Continue to invest in professional growth and development
Attend departmental and company-wide meetings and events
Be a team player and perform additional duties as requested
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements:
Must be highly motivated
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must have excellent organization skills
Must physically be able to participate in all duties required.
Requirements
Required Education, Certifications and Experience:
CPR certification
Pickleball instruction
Must be able to demonstrate proper running techniques and perform drills or other exercise as needed.
18 years of age with reliable transportation.
