Job Purpose Support and mentor children and adolescents in the Palm Beach Treatment Foster Care (TFFC) program. Work under the Program Manager to develop life skills, help youth succeed in school, and navigate life challenges.

Responsibilities

Provide life skills coaching to youth at least one hour per week, as determined by the team and assessment of need.

Conduct life skill development assessments using approved methods.

Create a Life Skills Development Plan and provide psychosocial rehabilitation activities aligned with the Youth Treatment Plan.

Provide home, community, and school‑based behavioral stabilization, coaching, and support as outlined in Behavior Modification Plans.

Consult with the youth’s Treatment Team, participate in supervision, and ensure each placed youth is in a nurturing and permanent family.

Plan, supervise, and document coaching family visits, including supervision, preparation, and debriefing.

Provide transportation for youth as needed.

Attend treatment meetings (school, Service Plan Review, Clinical Team meetings, etc.).

Attend required training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Experience and Qualifications

High school diploma or Associate’s degree with certified recovery peer specialist, psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner, recovery support specialist, behavioral health technician, or substance abuse technician.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Maintains professionalism and confidentiality.

Must meet state certification or licensing criteria.

Valid Florida driver’s license; must have safe and dependable vehicle.

Ability to observe child behavior and implement behavior management programs.

Ability to implement a skills training program and understand behavior change principles.

Demonstrates conceptual understanding of developmentally appropriate behavior for children/adolescents in home, school, and community.

Ability to establish strong relationships with children or adolescents.

Ability to provide skill‑building training to assist in new skill acquisition.

Capable of working cooperatively with Program Manager, accept supervision, attend meetings, and complete paperwork.

Physical Requirements

Word processing: responding to e‑mails, composing letters, completing documentation, transcribing minutes.

Ability to sit at a computer for 5–7 hours per day.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must sit in or drive a vehicle for several hours.

Walk up/down stairs.

Schedule

Typical hours: 9 am–5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Must flex schedule to meet program needs.
