Education Required High School Diploma or GED
Experience Preferred School bus driving experience
Certificate/License Possess or obtain a CDL. State of New Mexico Driver's License. Training will be conducted by SCS- SBDI Trainer.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Obey all traffic laws.
Observe all mandatory state safety and school bus driving regulations.
Maintain discipline when students are on the bus.
Report undisciplined students to the proper authority.
Keep assigned bus clean.
Keep to assigned schedule.
Complete a daily pre-maintenance check before driving the bus.
Notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
Discharge students only at authorized stops.
Exercise responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips and daily bus route.
Transport only authorized students.
Report all accidents and complete required reports.
Enforce regulations against tobacco use and eating on the bus.
Pass a DOT Physical.
Must be trained in First Aid/CPR & Defensive Driving. Attend all mandatory trainings.
