Sous Chef – Gramercy Tavern
Gramercy Tavern is one of America’s most beloved restaurants, welcoming guests since 1994. It offers contemporary American cuisine, warm hospitality, and unparalleled service. The restaurant features two dining experiences: The Tavern, which serves an à la carte menu in a casual walk‑in setting, and the Dining Room, which offers fixed‑price and tasting menus.
Who you are:
The Sous Chef works closely with the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef to maintain the highest quality and standards in the daily operations of the kitchen. You will ensure all pars are met in the prep kitchen, oversee execution of the menus throughout service, and play an active role in the management and development of Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and all hourly team members. You will hold the BOH team accountable for consistent feedback and career development through their performance objectives.
What you’ll do:
Consistently deliver a culture of Enlightened Hospitality to guests and team members
Ensure high performance and maintain excellence & hospitality throughout each day’s service periods
Ensure consistent execution of food and timely flow of service by directing the team and effectively expediting service
Educate dining room service staff on all aspects of the food menu & culinary procedures through tastings and staff presentations
Maintain a positive working relationship with dining room leaders and line staff at all times
Ensure that all recipes, product, food preparations, and execution meet the restaurant’s specifications and commitment to culinary excellence
Keep the kitchen & physical plant clean, safe, and up to all “A” level health code standards
Lead kitchen and manage staff performance objectives
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in culinary leadership and fine dining
Certification in a hospitality‑related field, or equivalent (preferred)
Demonstrated experience collaborating with and communicating across teams
Excellent food & beverage knowledge

Family Meal Chef – Brooklyn, NY Midway Staffing is seeking an experienced and reliable Family Meal Chef to join a high‑volume culinary team. You will prepare wholesome, flavorful meals for family consumption, including staff meal programs, weekly meal delivery prep, or community meal services.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare family‑style meals that are balanced, delicious, and suitable for family dining, following established menus or seasonal plans
Ensure consistent quality, portion control, and adherence to approved recipes and plating standards
Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards throughout meal prep and service
Assist with ingredient preparation, mise‑en‑place, and inventory tracking to support timely meal production
Work closely with kitchen leads and other cooks to coordinate production schedules, troubleshoot issues, and support smooth kitchen operations

Preferred: ServSafe or Food Handler certification; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
