Parking Services Attendant
Join Duke University to support the parking access and revenue control system (PARCS). Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing parking equipment, performing preventive maintenance, coordinating contractor work, collecting parking fees, monitoring parking areas, issuing citations, and providing event support.
Responsibilities
Electronics: troubleshoot and repair parking meters and automatic gates.
Install special electronic/electrical circuits to support equipment systems.
Assist technicians in repairing electronic parking systems; develop diagnostic skills.
Knowledge of low‑voltage electrical theory and networking for system availability.
Perform preventive maintenance—cleaning, calibrating, replacing components as needed.
Maintain parking facilities: paint lines and signs, perform asphalt patching, remove coins, transport money.
Conduct lot counts, observe violations, issue citations.
Assist in setting traffic control devices; provide parking fee collection and event support.
Report service status, outages, recommendations, MTBF.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; 3 years related experience or combination of education and experience.
Valid NC driver’s license.
Strong communication and analytical skills.
Ability to perform routine maintenance and coordinate contractor work.
Pay Range Annual base salary USD $18,000 – $24,570.
