Job Title Cook

Reports to Dietary Manager
Position Summary Intersect Healthcare of Lamont, a provider of comprehensive medical and residential services, seeks a Cook to prepare and serve nutrient‑rich meals in accordance with state, federal, and local standards. The Cook delivers high‑quality food to patients, residents, and staff while maintaining sanitation, safety, and customer service excellence.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and serve a variety of food items tailored to resident nutritional needs.
Inspect special diet trays to assure correct dietary service.
Process dietary changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, standardized recipes, and special diet orders.
Review care plans to assure consistent dietary information.
Follow Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies during daily tasks.
Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean, properly arranged manner.
Recommend equipment and supply needs to the Administrator.
Report all accidents/incidents as established by department policies.
Perform other tasks as required and attend meetings as needed.
Required / Desired Qualifications
Minimum of six months paid experience in quantity food preparation, managing recipes for 25–50 servings.
Formal or on‑the‑job training in quantity food preparation, estimating food needs, storing supplies, kitchen management, and sanitation and safety principles.
Preference for knowledge of therapeutic diets.
Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Prepare and serve nutritional meals at proper times and temperatures, preserving flavor and appearance.
Read, write, and follow written and oral instructions, including some calculations.
Basic knowledge of attractive food service, sanitation, and safety.
Other Special Requirements
Manual dexterity required to operate modern office equipment.
Ability to travel as needed or assigned.
Shift Details Part‑time night shift: 11:00 am – 5:30 pm every other weekend.
