Job Responsibilities
Perform certified DOT inspections and preventative maintenance inspections.
Carry out light and follow‑up repairs, light mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic diagnostics.
Complete scheduled dedicated work on assigned customer fleets (mostly light & medium duty gas vehicles) and, when necessary, emergency roadside services.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, power steering, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
Participate in regularly scheduled safety training; remain up to date on safety protocols and procedures.
Document work according to company standards; upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using the company device and proprietary application.
Communicate with management, team members, and Dispatch via Microsoft Office products and other methods such as email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers, and discuss findings and notes.
Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary.
Accurately complete DOT forms and all other required documentation in a timely fashion.
Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
Manage concurrent assigned tasks, prioritizing work and time allocations effectively.
Work with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (combination of light & heavy duty preferred).
Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
Pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical (current and valid DOT medical card may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical).
At least 21 years of age due to interstate operating authority regulations.
Safe driver required; 3‑year MVR review required; hold a valid state‑of‑residence driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
USD 28.65 – 42.98 per hour.
Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $28.65 – $42.98/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of 6.67 hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
