On-Call Fitness Instructor
Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking a Fitness Instructor to lead, instruct, and motivate individuals or groups in exercise activities across our assigned PHS locations. The role may include aquatic exercise activities where facilities are available. The Fitness Instructor works closely with the Fitness Director to develop curriculum and lesson plans that meet wellness objectives, maintain safe and clean fitness areas, and comply with policies, procedures, state and local regulations. Location
Folkestone – 100 Promenade Avenue, Wayzata, MN 55391. Folkestone is a progressive “green” community with pedestrian walkways, shopping, dining, plazas, open space, public art, and fountains within walking distance of downtown Wayzata and Lake Minnetonka. Reporting Structure
The Fitness Instructor reports directly to the Fitness Director at the designated HUB and collaborates with Site Leaders and staff at the assigned work sites. Responsibilities
Conduct professional classes in balance, strength, flexibility, endurance, and other beneficial topics for Fitness Center participants. Cooperate with the Fitness Director to develop and implement a curriculum and class schedule tailored to participant needs. Supervise open swim sessions, monitor pool utilization, and ensure safety (where applicable). Administer standardized assessments in a uniform manner. Educate and communicate with residents and caregivers on interventions and programs. Maintain safe and clean fitness areas and equipment. Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, oxygen saturation) during fitness activities when applicable. Complete accurate, legible, and timely documentation supporting services provided. Accurately capture and bill for services (when applicable) according to company policies and procedures. Manage schedule to meet resident needs and adapt to changes in the department or organization. Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field or equivalent experience in the fitness industry. Current nationally recognized certification in CPR. Current personal training certification. Current group fitness certification. Professional, positive communication skills with residents, guests, families, and employees at all levels. Willingness to travel to other PHS communities. Alignment with PHS’s mission and operating philosophies. Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English for communication with all customers. Pay Range
The estimated starting pay range for this role is $21.93 – $27.00 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on qualifications and market conditions. Benefits
