The Paraeducator is responsible for assisting teachers, itinerant staff, and others in the support of instructional, health-related, recreation, and/or pre-vocational job training activities. Responsibilities
Assist teachers and itinerant staff in classroom instruction and support student learning across all classrooms. Provide instructional, health-related, recreation, and pre-vocational training support activities. Communicate effectively with students, parents, community, and peers. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency required. Work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred. Working knowledge of training techniques, behavior modification, and task analysis. Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with students, parents, community, and peers. Ability to understand and work with children of all ages. Must demonstrate cooperative and effective communication skills, both oral and written, and apply active listening skills.
