Position(s): Elementary Teacher – Transitional Kindergarten – 6th Grade. Site and Grade level to be determined.
Qualifications & Requirements
Valid California Preliminary or Clear California Multiple Subjects credential
CLAD/BCLAD/EL Authorization
Transitional Kindergarten:
24 semester units of coursework in the field of Child Development (CD) or Early Childhood Education (ECE)
Possession of a baccalaureate or higher degree in CD or ECE
Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing
Have three or more years of full-time teaching experience in a transitional kindergarten, with preschool age children
For Grades K-6: Valid California Multiple Subject teaching credential with authorization to teach in grades K-6 in a self‑contained setting
Experience and personal qualities as required by the district
Preferred Qualifications
Valid California Driver’s License
Prior teaching experience
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach multiple subjects, including curriculum design and incorporation of critical learning procedures
Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter as specified in state laws, regulations, and district policies
Develop clear and appropriate lesson plans and select instructional materials
Select, design, and organize objectives, strategies, and materials for teaching multiple subjects, incorporating research findings
Provide individualized and small‑group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil; determine appropriate pace and explain material to students and parents
Differentiate instruction for students based on need and work with students and other teachers in inclusive settings
Establish and maintain standards of behavior to achieve a positive and functional learning atmosphere
Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, prepare student progress reports, and provide accurate and constructive feedback to students and parents
Use data to improve the learning and instruction process
Create and maintain an environment that fosters student creativity, critical thinking skills, academic achievement, and lifelong skill development
Show competence and confidence in working with new technology and various application packages
Maximize opportunities for student success by creating positive mentoring and working relationships with students and colleagues
Create a classroom environment reflective of 21st‑century skills and varied student individual needs
Be a role‑model for students regarding lifelong learning and professional behavior
Establish and implement a classroom discipline policy to articulate and maintain standards of expected pupil behavior and achieve an effective learning environment
Provide additional instruction to students as required
Maintain positive staff relations and work closely with the site principal to collaboratively lead the school through shared decision‑making processes
Cooperate with other professional staff members to identify student needs and develop assessments to solve health, attitude, and learning problems
Participate in faculty committees, meetings, and other faculty‑sponsored programs supporting the educational program
Demonstrate regular and timely attendance; engage with community and business partners to support curriculum development and student projects
Attend and participate in required in‑service activities; meet deadlines and maintain appropriate records and progress reports, following district promotion policy

Interact daily in person with other members of the school staff and possess comfortable interpersonal skills and cooperative attitudes
Because of the urgent nature of duties and because the work product of the position is interdependent with that of other staff, consistent attendance is required
Convey an understanding, patient attitude towards other students, parents, staff and members of the community
Maintain the privacy of confidential information including student grades, progress, etc.
Mandated Child Abuse Reporter This position is designated as a Mandated Reporter. The position shall report in accordance with California state regulations who observe, have actual knowledge, or reasonably suspect child or elder/dependent abuse or neglect to appropriate agencies.
Candidate Selection Candidate must present prior to the first date of employment: 1) a social security card; 2) proof of tuberculin risk assessment prior to the first day of hire; 3) pass State and Federal fingerprint clearances; and 4) complete all pre‑employment training including but not limited to Child Abuse Reporting and Sexual Harassment/Abusive Conduct.
Salary & Benefits Annual entry‑level salary placement from $60,544 to $100,773 for a full‑time position. Salary is prorated based on start date, FTE, and prior experience.
