The primary purpose of the position is to perform seasonal gardening tasks either done outside or in a greenhouse.
Duties
Identify grasses, weeds, shrubs and trees.
Provide care and maintenance appropriate for specific grass, tree or plant species.
Safely operate gasoline and diesel powered vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of less than 10,000 pounds and capable of carrying loads weighing less than 1 ton (e.g., small tractors, utility vehicles, riding lawn mowers, and riding power lawn sweepers).
Perform routine cleaning duties of buildings, including waxing, stripping, polishing floors, cleaning restrooms, disposing of trash, caring of outdoor sidewalks and steps, polishing furniture and exhibit cases, refilling soaps and replacing lightbulbs when needed.
Perform ground and trail maintenance duties on paved and unpaved trails, including washing, sweeping, filling holes, checking hand rails and replacing trail lights.
Assist in installing fences, repairing corrals, hauling furniture and supplies.
Pick up litter; clean rain gutters.
Mix/haul concrete.
May occasionally work as flag person on road projects.
