Siemens Energy
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Quality Test Technician you will conduct routine tests on voltage regulators, transformers, and other products manufactured in the factory per the work instructions and applicable ANSI/IEEE standards. You will be responsible for ensuring the product meets all required routine and design tests, ensuring smooth operation of the test department, and helping troubleshoot any equipment or production issues that arise. You will serve as the voice of quality and support quality, manufacturing, and other teams to improve performance and implement preventive and corrective measures for problem areas identified.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Electrical/Dielectric testing of various regulators and transformers including necessary physical wiring and connections
Inspect units and complete associated documentation during assembly for compliance with production and quality requirements
Report test results and inspection issues using various reporting mechanisms as required
Energize and oil fill voltage regulators per dry‑out work instructions
Troubleshoot test equipment and failures and update the shop floor management tool to track failures; work with the Quality team to ensure overall quality and improve test processes
Report and update issues using the Shop Floor Management (SFM) tool, SAP, and other reporting mechanisms; support all other Production and Quality team activities including preliminary and dielectric testing, dry‑out, and oil‑filling activities. Additional hours may be required on weekends and evenings to support these activities
What You Bring
High school diploma or GED is required
Prefer 1 year of experience in inspecting and testing electrical products in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings and technical specifications used in the design and production of voltage regulators; ability to interpret and apply IEEE/ANSI standards and ensure application in production
Capable of making necessary physical connections requiring the use of lifts and ladders; capable of pushing units on roller lines short distances (3‑6 ft)
Strong written and verbal communication skills are key; must be able to relay potentially complex ideas to a wide range of audiences
Good analytical skills and critical thinking to spot problems quickly
Color vision sufficient to identify wiring, labels, etc.; Adequate Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
