We seek an experienced recreation professional to plan, organize, and lead a variety of engaging activities for residents. The ideal candidate has healthcare experience and strong customer‑service skills.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and lead a wide variety of recreational activities/programs including music, arts, crafts, discussions, parties, social groups, trips, special events, entertainment, active and passive games, sensory activities, movies, bingo, etc.
Prepare a monthly calendar of activities that is posted in prominent areas and provided to every resident.
Ensure that all documentation requirements are met.
Develop a system to record resident participation / attendance.
Conduct regular entertainment, parties, seasonal programs and special events.
Ensure that the facility is appropriately decorated for holidays and seasons.
Adhere to all facility and state/federal regulations.
Requirements
Previous experience working with seniors and/or in a healthcare setting a plus.
Highly organized with the ability to lead others.
Positive, outgoing, upbeat personality.
Self‑directed with strong organizational and planning skills; ability to multi‑task.
Location Advanced Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is a 226‑bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located in New Haven, CT. The size of the facility allows a warm, nurturing environment that supports the autonomy and dignity of each resident.
