Recreational Aide Sapphire Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing of Central Queens invites applications for an entry‑level

Recreational Aide . The role leads residents in scheduled recreational activities—including singing, dancing, arts and crafts—and supports overall resident engagement.

Base Pay $18.00/hr – $19.00/hr

Responsibilities

Plan, promote and manage recreation based on individualized resident needs and interests; encourage participation and engagement.

Visit bed‑bound residents and non‑participants and provide appropriate recreation services.

Assist with the monthly newsletter and recreation calendar.

Support the volunteer program, admission assessments and community interaction programs.

Ensure residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.

Assist with transportation of residents to and from activities.

Assist residents in scheduling and partaking in video calls via FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom and Facebook.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Demonstrated skills in music (vocal or instrumental), arts & crafts, movement/exercise, painting or ceramics.

Must be able to lift 25 pounds and be on your feet for long durations.

Must be able to speak Chinese/Mandarin.
