Transfer Station Technician
Hourly rate: $20.49 - $22.61 DOE Location: Eddy County, NM Job responsibilities: Monitor designated municipal solid waste transfer and convenience stations in Eddy County. This position works in a crew environment to assist the Road Department with the solid waste transportation of trash to Sandpoint Landfill for delivery of roll‑off containers. Each operator will be given designated routes to transport the containers and equipment maintenance will be scheduled. The Light Equipment Operator possesses knowledge of sub‑base compaction, base construction, and surface construction of un‑surfaced roads. Is proficient in the use of compact equipment to reach desired compaction levels, dig, grade, and place drainage structures in right‑of‑way entrances or under roads to prevent or relieve flooding and washouts, and the ability to place cattle guards and footers as directed. Performs daily maintenance check lists of equipment including DOT walk‑around, pre‑trip and operation inspections. Employees must be able to work independently. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job related meetings, and perform other related duties as required and assigned. The Senior Road Manager, Road Manager, and Sandpoint Manager all have equal authority to direct your work schedule at any time. Working hours: May require irregular hours. Seniority level
