Compensation:

$50,000 – $80,000 per year (commensurate with experience and certification). Benefits:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.

Perform work as outlined on the multi‑point inspection and/or repair order with efficiency and accuracy.

Conduct complex and heavy‑duty repairs.

Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non‑mechanical individuals, including store managers, service consultants, and customers.

Recommend services necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; document all recommendations in the customer file.

Follow all safety procedures and report any concerns to the direct supervisor.

Work flexible schedules, including Saturdays; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous automotive technician or mechanic experience required.

ASE certifications in lieu of experience.

Ability to use computerized diagnostic equipment.

Valid driver’s license.

Minimum age 18.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical school experience preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands The senior automotive technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and may include extreme heat and/or cold. Proper PPE such as safety goggles may be required.

Physical requirements:

Stand for up to eight hours per day in the shop and walk to reach various areas.

Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch regularly; full range of motion with arms and hands; frequent handling of objects.

Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly; up to 70 pounds frequently.

Communicate with customers and shop personnel.

Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re‑focus.
