POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Maintenance E/M Technician will support the factory by performing electrical and mechanical maintenance and project work. Initially, the focus will be on troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical, control, and instrumentation systems on the manufacturing site. Over time, on‑the‑job training will qualify the employee for required mechanical tasks. This position requires occasional overtime, participation in a call‑out rotation, and a commitment to maintaining the site’s production capability.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install the electrical, control, and instrumentation systems of the manufacturing site. Equipment ranges from 24 V to 480 V, including motor control center buckets, local disconnects, power distribution panels, 3‑phase motors, VFDs, instruments, relays, and automatic valves.
Strictly adhere to electrical and arc‑flash PPE and safety requirements, as well as Lock, Tag, Try and other basic safety programs.
Install and troubleshoot flow, pressure, level, position sensors, and control valves for automation-related equipment.
Implement basic electrical projects such as conduit or cable tray installation and wiring to support motors, automatic valves, and instruments.
Collaborate with site mechanics to qualify for performing industrial equipment mechanical activities—including rotating equipment such as pumps, agitators, gearboxes, pipefitting, and welding.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required at the time of hiring.
Industrial electrician with 3–5 years of experience with 480 V power distribution systems and components (motor control center buckets, power distribution panels, motors, VFDs).
Experience troubleshooting 24 V to 480 V systems.
Experience performing industrial mechanical maintenance work.
Some pipefitting experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Strong troubleshooting skills for 24 V–480 V equipment and instrumentation.
Familiarity with the installation, troubleshooting, and replacement of field instrumentation (pressure, flow, level, position sensors, VFDs, control valves, and other automation equipment).
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret CAD‑based drawings for the repair/installation of electrical and piping equipment.
No issue working in confined spaces.
Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds, walk, sit, squat, bend, push/pull with arms or legs, reach overhead, and stoop.
Excellent time‑management skills and ability to balance responsibilities for given priorities.
Ability to think critically and provide timely and effective solutions.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Forklift / Skid‑Steer / Man lift / Crane operation.
Electrical journeyman certificate, OSHA 30 Training, NFPA 70E Training.
Familiarity with PLC hardware, wiring, and troubleshooting.
Mechanical maintenance experience with rotating equipment.
Pipefitting experience.
Welding certification.
