Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Support Services, the Facilities Support personnel maintain a safe and clean environment for Aviva clients and staff. They respond to maintenance and facility support requests in a timely manner, make agency‑related deliveries and pick‑ups, and perform tasks assigned by the Lead Maintenance person.
Essential Functions
General duties at Franklin/Wallis House (owned buildings)
Maintain a safe and clean environment for Aviva clients; keep tools, equipment, and chemicals locked up and secured away from clients at all times.
Handle basic maintenance tasks such as changing lights and ballasts, painting, changing AC filters, etc., to maintain quality, appearance, and cleanliness.
Handle minor emergencies such as spills, clogged pipes/toilets, broken windows, etc.
Maintain common (interior and exterior) areas so they are clean, safe, and presentable.
Maintain bathrooms at Franklin and school throughout the day.
Keep maintenance office and other supply rooms organized.
Meeting‑room set‑up, breakdown and clean‑up (primarily Franklin).
Maintain paper stock in all machines; handle paper jams and toner changes (Franklin).
Stock and issue office supplies as requested.
Maintain general order in Franklin/Annenberg copy room.
Sort mail when requested.
General duties at Aviva office sites (occupied as tenants)
Relocate furniture and office equipment as needed; complete work tasks for office improvement requests (hang pictures/whiteboards).
Perform support service tasks assigned.
Deliver copy paper to various copy/printer stations, as needed.
Check IT Server room AC monthly and replace filter every 2–3 months or as needed.
Miscellaneous duties
Be observant and report conditions requiring attention to lead maintenance/Director of Support Services.
Pick up and deliver mail and packages to all sites.
Maintain vehicles by conducting monthly inspections; advise lead maintenance of repairs/maintenance needed; get vehicles washed regularly and detailed as needed.
Assemble furniture or equipment as needed.
Donation pickups.
Maintain janitorial supply stock.
Assist with housekeeping as needed.
Periodically check work stations to verify staff follow established safety protocols in their individual work areas.
Regularly check (and correct) common areas for established safety protocols or as directed by Safety Coordinator and/or Director of Support Services or other executive staff.
Drive and operate agency vehicles safely; follow all driving laws.
Maintain an objective, professional relationship with Aviva clients at all times.
Sensitive and responsive to the cultural differences among the agency’s client population.
Actively participate in the quality improvement project.
Competency Requirements
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English (bilingual Spanish preferred).
Ability to work well with others.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
Must demonstrate appropriate and safe use of common hand tools.
Education and Experience
High School diploma preferred.
Facilities experience preferred.
Experience working in a residential treatment facility preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
Valid CA driver’s license.
Additional Requirements
Tuberculosis clearance.
Department of Justice/Fingerprint clearance.
Satisfactory completion of health screening.
Proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States.
Satisfactory driving record.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of a Facilities Support staff, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, drive and lift objects that weigh 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to use fingers to manipulate a keyboard or writing instrument.
Work Environment The work environment is primarily indoors and outdoors. Noise level varies from quiet to loud.
