As a Security Officer at Hackensack Meridian Health, you will safeguard the safety and well-being of patients, staff, visitors, students, and property throughout the Medical Center. Your role includes continuous patrols, incident reporting, and providing quality guest services to ensure a secure environment for all. Responsibilities
Conduct continuous patrols by foot or vehicle to observe and correct violations or safety hazards. Respond promptly to emergency and non‑emergency situations, following all codes. Control access to the Medical Center, escorting patients and visitors and enforcing policies. Manage access to all facilities owned, operated, leased or sold by Hackensack Meridian Health. Ensure smooth traffic flow and enforce parking regulations. Investigate unusual occurrences, interview witnesses, and log accurate information. Participate in fire drills, perform fire watches, and coordinate with the regional safety function. Escort personnel and visitor vehicles as requested. Report for duty in clean uniform with photo ID and breast badge. Inspect buildings, grounds, and parking lots; work with facilities to identify hazard risks. Screen packages leaving the Medical Center per policy. Submit computerized security incident reports before shift end. Complete and log daily activity reports. Maintain security equipment and report damage promptly. Keep Security Leadership informed of all safety and security matters. Adhere to Code of Conduct, departmental policies, and parking regulations. Complete required in‑service training and attend mandatory meetings. Work in all areas under all weather conditions. Implement the physical security component of the emergency management plan when necessary. Perform other duties or projects as assigned. Act in accordance with HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Qualifications – Required
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office or Google Suite). Qualifications – Preferred
2 years of college credits. Previous experience as a Security Officer or in law enforcement. Licenses and Certifications Required
Valid driver's license. State, County, Federal, and license checks conducted biennially. Compensation
