Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain smooth and efficient operation of the reception area during shifts

Guide guests and members through check‑in for dining rooms and bars

Welcome members with proper names and titles

Enforce club rules and dress code, advising members and guests as needed

Verify & log all guests and special visitors using the signing‑in system

Monitor bookings, guest lists and function sheets for accuracy prior to service

Direct members and guests to appropriate areas upon arrival

Handle general enquiries, emails and messages and route them appropriately

Conduct head counts of members and guests at specified times

Manage lost property inquiries and liaise with members or guests

Keep cloakroom clean, organized and fully equipped

Enforce staff grooming policy, maintain uniforms, and handle repairs or cleaning

Attend management meetings as required

Answer telephone calls and process bookings and reservations

Respond to emails from various teams within Maxime's

Reception Ambience

Keep the reception area clean and tidy at all times

Control heating, lighting and music to maintain the desired ambience

Monitor weather and open/close canopies as needed

Respond to any alarms in the reception area

Minimum Qualifications

Restaurant reception experience

Passion for exceptional hospitality, food and beverage

Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal & written)

Knowledge of general directions, travel times and access points

High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail

TIPS certification preferred

NYC DOH certification preferred

Familiarity with restaurant POS and reservation systems; ability to learn new systems (Tevalis & SevenRooms)

Knowledge of phone system etiquette or ability to learn

Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and variable schedule

Ability to maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace

Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Multilingual skills are a plus

Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally

Work varied hours and days as business requires

Stand for up to 8–10 hours daily
