Opportunity MAI’s high‑school science program offers rigorous courses in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at both standard and advanced levels. We seek a passionate science educator skilled in teaching across these disciplines and adept at fostering scientific inquiry through engaging coursework and inquiry‑based projects.

Responsibilities

Lead class sessions, facilitate scientific discussions, and guide students through complex concepts at foundational and advanced levels.

Design and implement inquiry‑based projects that foster experimentation, problem‑solving, and real‑world application of scientific concepts.

Provide detailed feedback on student work, mentoring students through one‑on‑one conferences and small‑group work.

Leverage technology and AI tools to personalize learning and enhance students’ experimental and analytical capabilities.

Cultivate a classroom culture that encourages curiosity, intellectual risk‑taking, and respect for diverse perspectives.

Qualifications

Several years of experience teaching high school science across multiple disciplines, with deep content knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and/or Biology.

Skilled at facilitating meaningful scientific discussions, providing constructive feedback, and guiding students through iterative problem‑solving.

Comfortable guiding student‑driven inquiry while using technology to support collaboration and student agency.

Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for student success and well‑being; collaborative, adaptive, and growth‑mindset professional.

Commitment to lifelong learning, embracing innovation, and seeking new knowledge to refine practice.

Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $80,000. Benefits include medical, life insurance, 401(k) savings plan, and more.
