Citarella is a family‑run, ultimate gourmet market that originated as an NYC fish market and now offers premium seafood, dry‑aged beef, chef‑prepared specialties, pastries, cheeses, and more across New York City, the Hamptons, and Greenwich, CT.

To Go Cook – Pay Range Base pay: $21.00 /hr – $23.00 /hr (actual pay will be based on experience and skills).
Role / Responsibilities
Prepare food items for To Go bars, including hot/cold bars and salad bars.
Ensure all products meet Citarella standards of quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation.
Monitor food levels and replenish items in a timely manner.
Properly date, label, rotate, and store products.
Maintain clean, organized work stations and surrounding areas.
Adhere to safety, cleanliness, and display standards in compliance with Citarella policies and food safety procedures.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Perform other duties as reasonably assigned to meet business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
1+ year experience in a kitchen or food preparation role (restaurant, catering, or hotel experience preferred).
Prior grill, sauté, or related kitchen station experience.
Ability to work in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.
Strong visual inspection skills for product quality and freshness per Citarella standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Willingness to learn about Citarella products.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, stoop, use stairs, lift, carry, push, and pull as required.
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
