For over 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Shop Laborer will perform a variety of tasks within the fabrication shop.
The shift will run
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; 12-hour days (6:00am-6:30pm) . Work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours as long as specific conditions are met.
Essential Functions
Cleans and lubricates equipment, maintains a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt, and readies or puts away tools as assigned.
Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery.
Cares for property by repairing the yard, shoveling, and removing snow.
By using an oxygen acetylene torch, cut steel scrap material and carry to bin to assist with burn table operations.
Fill in blaster for continuing blast booth operations if full-time blaster is absent.
Performs any unskilled job at the fabrication shop.
Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee.

Qualifications
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
Ability to work in a variety of roles.
Adhere to Maguire’s PPE Policy and Safety Programs.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Job training for this position is provided by the department trainer.
Work Environment
Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
Must be able to see details at close range.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to traverse construction sites by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
