Internship Job Duties
Market and grow the business. Observe other stylists/managers and ask relevant questions. Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with management, customers, and co‑workers. Control expenses. Promote and sell services and retail products. Answer telephones, stock shelves, sweep hair, and perform other duties as assigned by manager. Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited cosmetology school and obtain a license within 90 days of hire‑date. Work in a dynamic salon environment. Good time‑management skills, good judgment, and ability to multitask. Well‑developed interpersonal skills to communicate professionally with customers, co‑workers, and management. Computer knowledge including point‑of‑sale systems and data entry. Work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Frequent lifting up to 10 lb, occasional lifting 10–25 lb. Continuous standing. Reaching at shoulder level or above. Pushing and pulling to move styling chairs. Exposure to chemicals and fragrances used in hair services. Occasional ladder/step‑stool use for stocking shelves. Basic reading, writing and math skills. Occasional travel for meetings and training. Compliance / Administrative Tasks
Answer telephones, stock shelves, sweep hair, and other duties assigned by manager. Communicate effectively with management, customers and co‑workers. Maintain safety standards and identify hazards. Attend staff meetings, training sessions and mandatory meetings. Adhere to corporate policies and procedures. Handle POS transactions, including opening and closing the register.
