The Branford Y is seeking a passionate and energetic
Sports & Rec Instructor
to lead and facilitate sports activities for our youth and family programs. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with children and fostering a positive, active, and engaging environment. The Youth Sports Instructor will play a key role in promoting skill development, teamwork, and a love for physical activity in a fun and inclusive setting.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and assisting in youth sports activities, including curriculum development and scheduling.
Ensuring a safe and positive environment for all participants.
Setting up and maintaining equipment and activity areas.
Engaging with parents and guardians professionally to address any questions or concerns.
Evaluating program effectiveness and assisting with program improvements.
Supporting YMCA events and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
At least
one year of experience
managing or leading sports or recreation programs for children.
Strong ability to teach and assist in youth sports activities.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patience and enthusiasm.
Passion for youth development and fostering a supportive learning environment.
CPR/AED and First Aid certification
(or willingness to obtain).
Valid driver’s license
and reliable transportation.
Must complete all required YMCA training upon hire.
