Overview
Long-Term Substitute English Teacher
needed to provide high-quality instruction and continuity of learning during an extended teacher absence. The successful candidate will deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned to district standards while fostering a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment. A desire to work in a collaborative environment, the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, and an understanding of the unique requirements of academic instructors within the career technical education environment are required. Responsibilities
Deliver daily instruction in English Language Arts aligned to state standards and district curriculum Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the department or develop plans as needed Maintain effective classroom management and established routines Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records Communicate professionally with students, families, and staff Uphold school policies, procedures, and expectations Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required) Valid substitute teaching license or teaching certification (AYA 7-12 Integrated English) Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff Preferred Skills
Experience teaching middle school and/or high school English Experience in co-taught or inclusive classroom settings Strong adaptability and willingness to support school initiatives Compensation
Compensation based on district long-term substitute rate ($115 per day) Contact
