Library Aide II – Windmill Library
Join the award‑winning Las Vegas‑Clark County Library District as a Library Aide II assistant at the Windmill Library. This role supports library operations under general supervision, assisting with lending, collecting materials, registering new customers, issuing library cards, sorting and reshelving, answering routine questions, and teaching customers how to use library resources.
Hours & Wages The position is part‑time, 19 hours per week, FLSA non‑exempt. Pay range is $20.95 to $28.07 per hour. Pay begins at the minimum of the range, with annual merit and COLA increases per District policy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sort and reshelve returned books, periodicals, and other materials.
Operate library efficiencies.
Teach customers how to use library resources.
Perform routine clerical tasks (answer phones, organize files, handle register).
Assist customers in locating library collections using Library of Congress classifications.
Participate in library programs.
Answer frequently asked questions about branch layout, procedures, and collections.
Use Integrated Library System (ILS) and assist customers with checkout and check‑in.
Register new patrons and issue library cards.
Handle interlibrary loans.
Help plan and provide input in programs and outreach.
Provide collection development suggestions for weeding and participate in collection orders under supervision.
Education
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) – required.
Preferred: none.
Experience
Two (2) years as a Library Aide I or equivalent – required.
Preferred: none.
Physical Requirements Work is performed in an office setting; limited walking or standing is necessary. Tasks may involve frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting/carrying objects of moderate weight (20–50 pounds).
Schedule Typical schedule (subject to change)
Saturday: 9:15 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.
Thursday: 5:15 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.
Friday: 9:15 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.
