Responsibilities
Review menus and production sheets to determine food quantities needed for regular and special diet needs.
Prepare specified food items as assigned.
Test cooked foods by tasting and smelling samples.
Ensure sanitation and safety standards during preparation, cooking, and production line stages.
Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of specified equipment and kitchen work area.
Supervise food cooking; ensure correct temperature held and served.
Assist with preparation and distribution of foodstuffs.
Qualifications
Minimum 18 years old; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous food preparation experience required.
Ability to understand and organize food preparation activities.
Ability to carry out cooking tasks safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of food preparation and production processes.
Pride in quality of food and service.
High degree of personal cleanliness and good hygiene; suitable health status for food service.
Respect for residents' privacy and rights; respectful and dignified treatment of residents.
Regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, supervisors; must read, write, speak, and understand English at intermediate or more advanced level.
