Job Summary The
Security Officer II
is responsible for patrolling, protecting, and securing all Harris Health System buildings and grounds, promoting safety and security at all locations. The role also includes responding to all crisis intervention team activations, preventing patient elopements, and assisting medical staff with restraint of patients as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Licenses & Certifications
IAHSS Basic Security Officer Training Program must be completed within six months of employment
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Basic Life Support from a hospital‑based AHA program
Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certification or equivalent certification required within 30 days (if other certification is held at hire, must be recertified as SAMA upon expiration)
Registered by the Texas Private Security Bureau within 90 days of employment
Work Experience One (1) year experience in security, criminal justice, military, healthcare, or related experience; or a combination of the above.

Above average verbal (heavy public contract)

Other Requirements: E‑1 availability during disaster situations

Equipment operated: PC‑based electronic access control, CCTV, parking systems, handheld radio systems, and patrol vehicle
