Full-Time Infant/Toddler Teacher – Little Luke's Early Learning Center Join us as a Full‑time Infant/Toddler Teacher at the Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s Little Luke's Early Learning Center. In this role, you will create and maintain a nurturing learning environment that supports each child’s development and meets the diverse needs and interests of families.

Location & Schedule Location: 316 W. Washington Street, Boise, ID (Little Luke's Early Learning Center)

Schedule: Full‑time, 40 hours weekly (Monday–Friday, 9:30 am–6:00 pm)

Salary and Benefits Base pay range: $16.95/hr – $21.19/hr.

Benefits include:

12% employer‑funded retirement plan after two years of service, with immediate vesting and ability to make additional contributions via a 403(b) savings plan.

Health insurance (75% employer paid for family) and dental insurance (50% employer‑paid for family).

Free use of YMCA facilities for immediate family.

Generous paid time off package, earning at the rate of 24 paid days off per year to start.

Responsibilities

Create an environment that fosters safety through active supervision and role‑modeling safe behavior.

Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to building relationships, achievement, and belonging.

Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily communication with participants and parents using the Y voice attributes.

Implement the established curriculum that achieves the five Cause Measurement goals.

Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support children’s appropriate development and behavior.

Monitor and ensure the health and safety of participants, families, staff, and volunteers by following and implementing Child Development Branch‑approved Leading Practices.

Use Y Core Values, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective teaching strategies to support each child’s unique background, needs, and different learning styles.

Maintain an indoor and outdoor environment that is well equipped, organized, safe, clean, and welcoming. The environment is created based on the belief that all children learn best through play, positive adult interaction, and hands‑on open‑ended experiences.

Qualifications

Must be 16 years of age or older.

One or more years of experience working with children preferred.

Apprentice/CDA candidates or enrollees preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage others and make all people feel welcome.

Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.

Professional, adaptable, and articulate when dealing with others.

Required Licensure & Certifications

Boise City and/or Idaho State Child Care License – prerequisite upon hire (14‑day compliance period).

Pediatric CPR/AED – prerequisite upon hire (14‑day compliance period).

First Aid – prerequisite upon hire (14‑day compliance period).
