Position Summary Brock-Civil is currently seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Haul Truck Operator to join our growing team in NE Georgia (Lake Lanier) area. As a Haul Truck Operator, you will be responsible for transporting goods and heavy equipment to various locations while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. As a Roller Operator, you will operate heavy machinery to compact various materials in construction projects. This role requires attention to detail and a strong understanding of machinery operations. The ability to flex is a must as production needs vary from site to site and day to day. Our ideal candidate is comfortable working long hours and can handle the physical demands of the position while demonstrating a “can do” attitude by doing what is necessary to meet business objectives.
Job Functions
Gather and load material from job sites to and from trucks. Transport to the appropriate location.
Operate roller as necessary to compact earth, subgrade, and other surfaces.
Ensure the quality and durability of surfaces by performing inspections and basic repairs on equipment.
Follow safety guidelines and protocols while operating machinery.
Utilize technical skills to control and guide machinery effectively.
Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
Perform daily pre‑and‑post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
Communicate effectively with other members of the construction team.
Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MHHA/Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and the environment.
Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
Perform all aspects of general labor as assigned.
Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to perform manual labor as necessary.
Operate with a sense of urgency.
Be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals.
Job Qualifications
Trucking school diploma or High school diploma (or equivalent)
CDL preferred but not required
Must have 2+ years previous experience (experience working on residential or civil construction site a plus)
OSHA 30 hour preferred
Ability to provide effective communication and reporting.
Maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Days and hours of work vary based on job size and job location (40-55 hours weekly). Evening and weekend work is required as job duties demand.
Be willing to travel and work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
Must successfully pass pre‑employment & DOT drug screen.
Ability to work in all weather conditions and around moving mechanical equipment.
Willingness to perform general labor duties as needed.
Must be able to provide proper documentation that you have the legal right to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
This job requires the ability to lift, pull, push a minimum of 50 lbs.
Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb all day.
Requires the following specific types of vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Able to work with moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic/caustic chemicals.
Ability to perform essential job tasks in less than favorable job conditions. This may include but are not limited to: Performing strenuous work in varying temperatures, humidity, sand, wind, or other extreme inclement weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Able to work in moderate to loud work environment.
