Residential Driver – Fort Myers/Cape Coral Area – Waste Pro USA
Join the Waste Pro team as a Residential Driver in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area. Earn a $3,000 sign‑on bonus and a $10,000 driver award every three years for meeting specific criteria. Summary of Position
The Residential Driver operates refuse collection vehicles on pre‑assigned routes, picking up garbage, yard waste, and recycling. Work is performed under supervision and performance is reviewed through direct observation of routes. Essential Job Functions
Safely drive truck on pre‑established route, collecting and dumping garbage and refuse into trucks while covering a designated route in a residential zone. Unload refuse trucks at landfill or transfer station. Provide courteous and expeditious customer service to general public and customers, exhibiting a positive attitude toward company, customer and municipal goals. Ensure garbage and recyclables at residences are picked up and transferred properly; tag improper refuse containers and waste. Perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip inspections per Waste Pro procedures and DOT guidelines. Complete Safety Lane activity and DVIR daily per Waste Pro safety lane guidelines, including inspection under hood, check under carriage, check fluid levels and air tires. Maintain clean truck and wash exterior weekly. Inspect and clean truck: lift hood, inspect under hood, walk around and check under carriage; pump gas, check fluid levels and air tires. Perform a variety of manual duties in clean‑up of scattered refuse; move and empty large trash bins using truck hydraulics. Prepare, maintain, and submit required company and regulation‑mandated reports and documents. Responsible for all persons working on vehicle during the designated route. Must comply with all Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles. May be required to work during emergency situations. Other Job Responsibilities
Attend and participate in company‑sponsored training courses as assigned. Keep up to date on current technology used by Waste Pro. Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor. Work Environment
Work in a variety of environmental conditions, including wide temperature and weather variations (heat, cold, snow, rain, wind), noise and vibrations, fumes, odors and dust. Seniority Level
