As a Part‑Time Night Custodian, you will keep facilities clean, safe, and well‑maintained.
How You Will Impact Education
Clean assigned areas: interior hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, multi‑purpose room, and any other area assigned by supervisor.
Clean assigned areas: exterior perimeter of school building, parking lot, playground, windows, and any other area assigned by supervisor.
Empty trash from any and all receptacles.
Dust FF&E, window sills, air vents and any other area assigned by supervisor.
Clean and sterilize restroom facilities.
Clean up bodily messes including vomit, feces, urine, and blood per training.
Remove waste in cafeteria for breakfast and lunch.
Assist with cleaning cafeteria tables and maintaining floor cleanliness.
Sterilize all high‑use areas to reduce bacteria and other harmful agents.
Assist Head Custodian with cleaning projects or tasks.
Assist with creation and aid in building preventative‑maintenance processes and monitoring systems to extend facility component life.
Travel may be required to nearby schools or warehouses.
Participate in training programs to increase skill and proficiency.
Review current developments, literature and janitorial sources related to job responsibilities.
Ensure adherence to OSHA and safety procedures.
Perform other duties as delegated by Supervisor.
Follow federal and state laws and company policies.
Director of Projects & Facilities will assess effectiveness annually.
Must always carry hand‑held radio while on school property if assigned.
Must stay on school property from beginning to end of the day.
Assigned a 30‑minute lunch break; time may be adjusted to school needs.
Open‑campus emergency assistance; no errand leaving without permission.
Job Requirements
Education – minimum high school graduate with continuing education related to construction or facilities.
Experience – minimum 1 year of janitorial trade experience.
Special Qualifications – possess the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
May perform other duties assigned.
Work Environment Usual office working conditions.
Physical Demands
Travel within or outside of state.
Light work: Exert up to 20 pounds occasionally, or up to 10 pounds frequently.
FLSA Overtime Category Non‑exempt; subject to minimum wage and overtime provisions.
