Description At Dollywood Parks & Resorts, we create memories worth repeating. We do this every day across all properties, all located in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. We are seeking a Host Transit Driver who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while bringing families closer together and caring deeply about our brand. This person also brings a spirit of fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity and genuine hospitality to the lives of our guests.
Job Details We want to work alongside someone who acts as an extension of our mission, values, and culture. This individual is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while ensuring the success and profitability of our unique offerings. The right Host Transit Driver will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.
The Host Transit Driver is responsible for all aspects of the host shuttle operation, to include safety, friendliness, cleanliness and line speed within assigned areas. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.
Summary Of Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Greets guests and initiates friendly interaction; provides guest excellence that exceeds expectations, answers questions, and provides park information
Effectively uses empowerment to ensure Dollywood’s 100% Satisfaction Guarantee policy is implemented
Transports Hosts via Shuttle/Van conveyances in a safe and efficient manner
Observes surroundings and other conveyances for potential safety hazards
Observes Host actions during operation to prevent safety hazards
Cleans and organizes conveyance daily to present a professional appearance
Communicates calmly, clearly, and positively with Hosts aboard the conveyance
Communicates safety rules and scripted festival/general park information in a manner consistent with the values and mission of The Dollywood Company
Maintains a sense of urgency to reduce Host wait times
Completes daily written reports and turns in any necessary paperwork to Transit PIC
Operates vehicles and works each position in all weather conditions
Uses time productively to lift sweeping, clearing cobwebs, straightening cones, and other similar items
Assists with other areas in parking as needed/requested by Management
Wears and maintains a themed costume issued by Dollywood
Performs special projects as directed by Management
Attends all required Training Classes and Meetings
Complies with safety and security directives, policies and procedures to ensure Hosts/Guests safety at all times
Reacts calmly and quickly in stressful/emergency situations; physically assists Guests throughout the area as required
Initiates friendly interaction with guests
Works varying hours and at different areas when needed
Maintains confidentiality at all times
Follows all safety standards and reports any violation of standards
Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time
Education And Experience Required
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance
May be required to provide a copy of personal driving record from home state
Must have less than three (3) traffic violations on record in the last three (3) years
Must not have a DUI conviction in the past 15 years on record
Applicants for positions that involve driving Guests or Hosts must pass a post‑offer physical that complies with DOT requirements
Must successfully complete a background check including motor vehicle and pre‑employment drug screen
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Must project Dollywood’s image by being genuinely friendly and caring and taking pride in their work
Must be self‑motivated and disciplined
Must prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis
Maintain strict confidentiality and judicious handling of privileged information
Willing to constantly improve

Exhibit friendly, outgoing, polite, courteous, honest, dependable, mature, positive attitude and good judgment to make sound decisions

Tolerate a wide range of climate and temperature variations in all seasons and weather conditions
Maintain good personal hygiene and be clean in costume
Learn additional ticketing system functions
React quickly in emergency situations; operate fire extinguisher; handle detergents and chemicals
Be flexible to frequent changes in priorities; memorize cash handling procedures
Willing to perform other work functions as assigned; work outdoors
Maintain dependable attendance and flexibility with required overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays
Provide two‑weeks’ notice for requested days off and obtain schedule change approvals from leadership
Handle fast‑paced environment and job-related stress
