Job Title:

Paint Mixer

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with mandatory overtime as needed

Reports To:

Paint Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated

Paint Mixer

to join our team. This role primarily responsible for accurately blending and mixing paints to achieve specific color formula, while ensuring consistency and quality, key duties include color matching, following paint formulas, supplying paint line with correct paint, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety protocol.

Responsibilities:

Perform Viscosity checks: measuring the thickness or flow characteristics of paint to ensure it meets the required standards

Mix paint in 5‑gallon buckets using small agitator

Ensure paint is correctly hooked up to the robot in the paint booth

Change filters: To prevent particles or dried bits of paint from clogging the spray nozzles, help maintain uniform flow and avoid any inconsistencies in the application

Cleaning and avoiding contamination: To maintain paint quality and ensure smooth consistent results

Barrel Changes: exchange 500‑pound drums using a drum cart

Record the usage of paint during your shift

Additional duties as assigned

Shift is 8 hours. May work overtime up to 10‑12 hours. Two 10‑minute breaks per shift and 20‑minute meal break.

Employees get paid the entire time they are clocked in and do not clock out for breaks, if taken on campus!

Qualifications:

Must be able to see

color vision , specifically the ability to perceive a wide range of colors accurately and distinguish minimal variations in color.

Must be able to communicate in English

Must be able to demonstrate understanding health and safety compliance training programs and departmental work instructions that are written in English

Use of basic hand tools such as wrenches and pliers

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment

Physical Demands:

Lift and carry 5‑gallon buckets (up to 58 lbs) for mixing, from floor to 60 inches and up to 50 feet in distance, handling 6‑10 buckets per shift

Move 500‑pound barrels using cart

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach above head and below shoulder level

Ability to work in a non‑climate‑controlled environment

Must pass annual pulmonary function testing and respirator physical for approval to use negative pressure masks and full‑face respirators.

The work environment is representative of conditions typical for a manufacturing facility. Guardian West is not a climate‑controlled facility. Safety precautions must always be followed to reduce exposure to hazards

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and loud environments

Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration
