Responsibilities

Complies with all state and federal regulations and Medical Center policies and procedures relating to drug dispensing, including appropriate handling of drug products, adherence to security procedures, and completion of necessary documentation. This includes appropriate control and dispensing of controlled dangerous substances and investigational drugs.

Reviews and dispenses prescriptions and clarifies any and all potential problems with prescriber.

Monitors patient drug therapy regimens for clinical appropriateness, including, but not limited to issues such as allergies, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, potential adverse reactions, appropriate dosing, and compliance.

Performs assigned unit and pharmacy inspections to assure proper maintenance and storage of medications, supplies, including emergency drug supplies, controlled substances, and hazardous drugs.

Oversees activities of ancillary personnel (Pharmacy Technicians, Liaisons, Navigators, Clerks and Couriers).

Employs principles of safe medication practice as dictated by departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

Lifts a minimum of 10 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 40 lbs. and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.

Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.) This process includes communicating with the patient, parent and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).

Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy, or equivalent, with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of one year of pharmacy experience.

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Pharmacist License.

Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in relevant skills and competencies.

Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location.

Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.

Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.

In addition to our compensation for full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) job positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits. Starting at $73,028.80 Annually.
