The Secondary Math Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging math instruction to students. This role focuses on building foundational math skills, fostering problem‑solving abilities, and encouraging a positive attitude toward mathematics. The teacher will create a supportive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and confidence in learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver daily math lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
Integrate technology, manipulatives, and real‑world applications to enhance understanding.
Develop and administer formative and summative assessments.
Track student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
Use data to adjust instruction and support student growth.
Establish a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
Implement positive behavior strategies to encourage student engagement.
Promote collaboration and teamwork among students.
Work closely with other teachers, specialists, and administrators to support student success.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Participate in professional development and school‑wide initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field.
Valid state teaching certification in Elementary Education or Mathematics.
Strong knowledge of math pedagogy and child development.
Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Passion for inspiring young learners and fostering a love of mathematics.
Preferred Skills
Experience with math intervention strategies.
Familiarity with digital learning tools (e.g., interactive whiteboards, math apps).
Ability to design creative, hands‑on activities that make math fun and accessible.
