Description
Prepares, displays, and cooks food in a retail service station.
Requisitions, inspects, prepares, cooks, cools, and portions meats, vegetables, cereals, soups, fruits, and other food items in accordance with quality standards and standardized recipes.
Recommends menu items, recipes, and changes to cooking methods to improve food quality; forecasts specific quantities to be produced.
Maintains food production records, temperature logs, and food safety documentation.
Uses leftovers to maintain an efficient waste control program.
Keeps abreast of new food preparation trends and methods in the food service industry.
Processes food for storage and cooling following regulatory codes.
Labels, dates, and stores items as required.
Maintains an organized, clean production area, equipment, utensils, and tools.
Cleans work areas, including ovens, stoves, grills, and tables.
Lifts trays and pans of food from ovens, steamers, and other equipment.
Pushing food carts, racks, dollies, and cambros.
Monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures internally and externally.
Inspects integrity of food products prior to use.
Contributes to a smooth, non‑stop customer service operation providing high‑quality food services to meet customer needs.
Demonstrates appropriate sanitation and safe food‑handling procedures for food preparation, services, delivery, and storage.
Applies food safety codes and governing standards (federal, state, local, and accreditation agencies).
Uses standardized and non‑standardized recipes and ingredients to prepare, create, and process foods.
Checks and records temperature of food as required; covers, labels, and dates food items and leftovers for storage.
Documents refrigerator/freezer temperatures as required.
