About the Role The Yard Jockey will move trucks, trailers, and straight trucks between multiple facilities for loading and unloading products. The work is within the yard; there is no over-the-road driving, and the Yard Jockey is home each day. Key responsibilities include:
Move bulk feed trailers and straight trucks to scale and load bulk feed at multiple facilities
Move ingredient hopper trailers to load and unload products at multiple facilities
Move liquid tankers and air can trailers between facilities to load and unload ingredients
Move van trailers between facilities (often requires drop and hook)
Work at a self‑paced schedule and tolerate exposure to outside temperatures
Take samples of product from trailer bins for QA records
Perform QA testing of product and log results as required
Communicate with plant staff to coordinate loading of product on the trailer
Open and close bin lids on the trailer
Who You Are
A holder of a valid CDL Class 'A' driver's license
Capable of driving a manual transmission
Comfortable backing trailers
Knowledge of DOT regulations for trucks and trailers
Available to work nights, weekends and overtime
Can meet tight schedules and handle multiple assignments
Skilled in disconnecting lines, general fifth wheel operation, and trailer landing gear
Able to lift 50 lbs consistently
High school diploma or GED
